Canal Winchester Human Services provides a variety of social service programs to residents of the Canal Winchester School District. These include the
Canal Winchester Senior Transportation Program
, which provides free transportation to eligible residents, and the Emergency Assistance Program, which provides matching funds to residents facing emergency situations.
Annual programs include Tools for Schools - a program that provides free school supplies to children in need, and the annual Adopt A Family Program, which assists with clothes and toys during the Christmas holiday. At various times throughout the year, Human Services also supports community projects such as the Community Halloween Party and the Junior-Senior After Prom Party. The organization also assists with the weekly senior lunch program at the community center and makes regular visits to Winchester Place, Canal Winchester's local nursing home.
In 2008, the Weiser Endowment Fund was established through the sale of selected prints from original paintings of longtime resident Dick Weiser. Because Human Services is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charity, all financial contributions are completely tax deductible.
