Community
Programs
Thousands of
Central Ohio visitors joined Canal
Winchester to share in our community
programs during the past years.
Canal
Winchester has many spaces for your next
meeting or family event. In addition
to our Community/Senior Center, Wagnalls
Memorial and AmeriHost Inn offer
room
rentals.
Many
area businesses offer special events for
children.
Included in these are: story time,
preschool playgroups and recreation
activities.
Guests to the
Barber Shop
Museum can view multiple exhibits
of tools used by barbers of old. When
you visit be sure to check out the back bars
dated through both World Wars and dental
equipment. I bet you did not know that
barbers also served as dentists!
Art
classes are also available through
the Art Guild. Canal Winchester is
home to the Robert Warren Art Loft and local
artists Dick Weiser and Linda Henry.
Quality antique shops abound Canal Winchester
and the surrounding area.
Canal Winchester is know for its
historical landmarks. The last covered
bridge in the county can be found on
Ashbrook Road. It was build in 1887
and is no longer used for transportation.
The Senior Transportation Program
continues to serve the needs of age 60 and
older who reside within the Canal Winchester
School District or are seriously
disabled. At the end of 2005,
approximately 150 senior clients were able
to utilize this program.
Like most quaint villages, Canal
Winchester takes pride in its community
festivals and gatherings. The downtown
area is home to the Labor Day Festival and
Farmers' Market.
